Self-assessment questionnaire for Chemicals Risk Management (CRM)

This questionnaire aims to support your assessment of your CRM in the company. It can be used regularly, e.g. once per year, to monitor progress and review the management system. The document is structured to support progress monitoring over several years. It is intended as an initial inspiration and you may develop your own assessment scheme and indicators for your CRM over time, which exactly suites the needs in your company. 

 

Example template for keeping the chemicals inventory

An essential part of a good chemical management system in a company is a complete inventory of used chemical substances and mixtures. A chemicals inventory lists all chemicals used as input materials and contains relevant information for chemicals risk management in the company. It is the main data base on chemicals in a company. This example template provides an idea of the type of information that should be collected and available in most cases.

 

Template and example of a chemical safety card

Safety data sheets (SDS) come with every hazardous chemical and can be long and confusing to read. To make it easier for workers, we suggest to provide workplace instructions or “safety cards” in addition to SDSs. Chemical safety cards summarize how to perform the tasks at a particular workplace and should include all relevant information on the used chemicals.
